On July 25, 2003, Stanley Ommen was elected to serve as Board secretary. Ommen was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Governor George Ryan in October 2000. Stan Ommen recently retired as president and chief executive officer of State Farm's federal savings bank at the company's corporate headquarters. He spent the first 34 years of his professional life working in the banking industry for Champion Federal Savings & Loan Association, which became First of America Bank in 1993. He is active in the local community holding such positions as board member and chairman of the ISU Foundation, and board member and vice chairman of the board of the Westminster Village Retirement Facility. He currently is a member of the Federal National Mortgage Association's Midwestern Regional Advisory Board. Mr. Ommen joined State Farm in 1997. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Illinois State University and his MBA from the University of Illinois.
